Guarded
You don't have to tell me you love me, for ii already know. I know that your [heart] is incapable of allowing the capabilities for [love] to love the way its suppose to love....But the question I can't quite comprehend yet is... why are you so guarded?
I don't need a long-winded description of the people that has hurt you, what makes you scared to feel feelings, or that you just aren't strong enough to endure being hurt again. Once upon a time, our stories of how we've been victimized by love were all different, but being guarded will soon lead us all to the same non-happily-ever-after.
I know for a fact that it takes a strong person to love and love again each time with a clean slate. A stronger person to love in the present and re-up out the past. It takes courage to stare love in the eyes when it is staring you right back in the face...asking you to give what is being given back to you (your all)...promising to be unconditional at all times. It takes growth to not relapse and remember all other broken promises. It takes someone deserving of love to believe with their mind, body, and soul that this time truly may be different. I mean what is the worst that can happen when you open up and give your heart away? They give it to you back??? Okayy well so be it. But at the end of the day you have to be more open to the next chance you get because it might just be your time to find love as love finds you
